The Features of SASAWASHI

SASAWASHI has excellent functions, so called, "the Power of Nature". These are not the chemically post-processed function but are the functions given from nature.

[Excellent Absorbency]

WASHI used in SASAWASHI fabric has an excellent absorbency. Shoji (a sliding paper door) used in Japanese houses absorbs the moisture when the humidity is high and keeps the room comfortable. Also in Indian-ink drawings, WASHI absorbs the ink very well and creates the delicate, blurred lines, which make the drawings interesting. Another characteristic of WASHI compared with the other fibers is that WASHI is less sticky and emits less moisture once the moisture is taken into the fiber. The popular fabric, cotton also has an excellent absorbency but it emits the moisture (relapse nature of moisture) and becomes sticky compared with WASHI. Since WASHI not only has an excellent absorbency but it keeps the moisture within the fiber, it does not become sticky and is always kept dry.

[Natural Antibiotic, Deodorant Effects]

In SASAWASHI fabric, WASHI is blended with natural KUMAZASA, which has excellent antibacterial, deodorant effects given from nature. In the market, there are many other antibacterial and deodorant products, most of which are post-processed with chemicals. Therefore, the latter loses these functions every time it is used. The function itself is doubtful in the first place. However, SASAWASHI has real antibacterial, deodorant effects taken from natural KUMAZASA because it is weaved into WASHI in the early stage. Therefore, the antibacterial, deodorant effects are maintained after many uses and washes, so the fabric is always kept clean.

[Gentle to the Skin]

Fine and short fibers are put together to make yarns of cotton and linen. Therefore, there are fine fuzz on the surface of these fabrics stimulating the skin. On the contrary, SASAWASHI fabric structurally has almost no fuzz since the slit SASAWASHI paper is twisted to weave into a SASAWASHI fabric. That is why the fabric does not stimulate the skin. So SASAWASHI fabric is perfect for those with sensitive skins and atopic dermatitis. Also SASAWASHI has the function to block the ultraviolet rays. No other fabric in the natural world is able to block 80% to 90% of ultra violet rays without any processing.

[Washable]

You may wonder why paper is washable. But WASHI is structurally water-repellent compared with other western paper. Some of you might have washed the Yen bills by mistake in a pocket of clothes but found out later that the bills remained unharmed. Probably, foreign bills would have been badly damaged. WASHI used in SASAWASHI fabric is designed to have a maximum waterproof. The fabric made of twisted yarns is highly water-resistant and is machine washable at home. But do not bleach. Use the neutral detergent which does not contain bleach.
